About Fossil Digger

A free daily game about digging back through time — and the little natural-history museum you build one day at a time.

What it is

Fossil Digger is a free browser game you play for a couple of minutes a day. Each day brings a fresh set of quick trivia prompts. The better your answers, the deeper your drill sinks — down through the Ice Age, past the asteroid, into the Cretaceous, the Jurassic and all the way to Deep Time — and the older and rarer the creature you haul up.

Every fossil you dig up is a real prehistoric animal. Assemble a whole skeleton and it joins your Dig Crew; fill out your museum; show your best finds off in the shared Exhibit; and climb the daily leaderboard and the all-time Hall of Fame. There are no accounts and no sign-up — just open it and dig.

Answer the day's prompts — rarer answers dig you deeper.
Reach a layer and brush the dirt off whatever you find there.
Keep a daily streak going for growing rewards and exclusive crewmates.
Complete skeletons, fill your museum, and compare your collection with friends.

Who makes it

Fossil Digger is an independent game made in New Zealand. It's designed to be a healthy few-minutes-a-day ritual — no dark patterns, no pay-to-win. Ads (through Google AdSense) and optional cosmetic purchases keep it free to play; see the Privacy page for exactly what is and isn't stored.
